Default WSMC 5/15 Report!

Wooh, hot damn is right! Not only was it a bit hot out at the track this weekend, but my middle weight novice class was hot as well!

The weekend started with me heading over early Sat. so I could watch Jason have fun tearing it up in his Solo series GTU race. Bryant was looking good as well in the same race, only GTO, including his "special" wave by move, but I'll let him or Jason tell that story! It was an awsome race to watch, and looked like tons of fun!

Morning warm-up secessions went great with no problems to report. I just feel every lap I get to take around that track makes me faster. Then it was time for the long wait till race 12, but luckily that time was filled watching some good racing!

Final and immediate call for race 12 comes over the P.A. and Aaron Z., Mike (jiggy) and I rip off the tire warmers and head to the grid. I like using Jason's technique and waiting till almost everyone has headed out, then tearing through the pack on the warm up! Grid up on grid position 18, inside, second to last row of 1st wave (finally!!!!!) Jiggy's in 19th, but Aaron was way back in the 2nd wave. Starter dropped the flag, and I flew up the inside, over dust and grass growing up on the extreme edge, and went into turn 1 in around 9th, however 2 guys in front of me hit, and shower me with bits of body parts and I freak out a bit, and while they both keep it up and head on, 2 other get around me so I was bummin. (I just re-read that, and I mean fairing parts, not actual body parts!) So I put my head down to see what I can do. 2nd lap I'm charging up the inside of turn 3 passing someone, and the rider right in front of us tucks it and slides up and out of 3, it was almost funny looking! As I come around 4b, another guy in front highsides it! I'm like this is going to be a red flag and sure enough coming around 8 there it is. So I'm happy, everyone was OK, and hopefully I can get a better start.

2nd start, and this time I rocketed up the inside and enter 1 in 6th! I'm right behind a guy on a GSXR for the first 2 laps, but he was very quick and hard to pass, so I figured I would just hold there and that would be a good spot to finish, but coming down the front straight, lap 3, racer mode takes over, and going into 1 I go way deep and out brake him. What I didn't know was he was doing the same thing to the guy in front of him, so according to Jason, I out braked them both into 1. Damn, I was feeling good now, and for the rest of the race I was able to hold him off for 4th! I was an awsome race, and way more exciting when you can actually see the leader just up ahead of you.

I want to thank Aaron for letting us use his shower and Bryant for the pizza, thanks guys, Mike and Tina for making the day go by faster, and Jason for all your help and advice that makes me go faster! What a weekend! :happyb
