iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | I'm seriously thinking about getting my WSMC license to race in the 09 season. I have heard good and bad things about WSMC but all the personal opinions seem to come second hand. Anyone have any personal experience with WSMC as a beginner race series. Thanks. |

| Know It All | WSMC is not bad. They have been doing it a long time and it is always at the same track so they are very proficient. They are also resistant to change (for the better). Since all the races are at big track, you only have 1 track to learn and can work on perfecting it. I say sign up and go for it! |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (11) | If you are going to race consistantly in 2009, I would recommend doing the NRS in January so you can be a contender for the Rookie of the year! It's a fast track, lots of fast racers, if you plan to be competitive get a lot of track time there before you start racing, go on mylaps.com to see what other novice racers lap times are for the classes you'll be running in. If you are running competitive laps times maybe you'll win a race before you get out of novice, once your in the expert classes, it's going to be a lot harder to win, because there are a lot of super fast guys! I did a few WSMC races this year, it was a lot of fun! Good luck and most of all have fun!!!

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | I'm still considering buying a 1000 to race the bigger bikes, I used to ride a Gix1k and loved the power but it wasnt practical for canyon and daily riding. From what I saw at WSMC last month when I watched a friend race in the 10 class there are so much fewer racers in novice 10 class vice the 600 class. I like my odds better with less people, lol. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (11) | Yes there was a 4 race WSMC Streets series... Not sure if they are going to have next year, they've only done for 2 years.... Novice Heavyweight is a fun class... that is the class I was in. Middle weight classes is also know as the axe grinding class... because there are a lot of racers in them!

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (24) | I raced with wsmc up till last month, when i had a bad crash... put me ouy for the rest of the year. racing with wsmc has been great!!! cant wait to get back. my advice: start in middleweight or lightweight instead of heavyweight. starting out racing on a literbike is tough. that's a lot of bike to handle and learn to race on. I race a 675, so I had to race novice heavyweight. even though I was at a huge hp disadvantage, I was still competitive. Moved up to from novice to Expert this past April, and that allowed me to race in the middleweight classes. In spite of the middleweight classes being really competitive, I was doing well (as an Expert, had a best of 6th at the big track and a couple of 2nd places at streets) considering my lack of experience.

| Newbie | I just started racing this year. So far it has been the funnest thing I have ever done (Involving a motorcycle ). I'm still in novice so I couldn't tell you first hand what the expert races are like, but I do know they're REAL competitive. The novice class...well... it has a wide variety of riders in it. lol I was able to win my last race, but then again I lapped a guy so that's not saying much for the competition. lolAll in all I would say it's a good group of people and a good club. ![]()
