iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (10) | What type of riding do you want to do? :clapping Because the ttr250 is nothing more than a trail bike. I would never recomend one unless it was for a beginner that only wanted to putt around. (Forever). IMHO buy the XT250 so that you could at least ride on the road. There is yesterdays technology built all over that bike. :yikes

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (10) | Well RC, I weigh about 222 now and that CRF230 would not treat me very nice. And if you want to wheelie then you better have some skills cause the power from the 230 isn?t gonna help you much. The WR250F is polly more towards what you want. And the Crf250X. They cost a bit more but for the reasons that you mentioned before. Suspension and braking components are far superior. And the motors on both bikes just rock. Not only will you be able to enjoy the learning experience but the bike will handle and grow with you as your skills increase. And they?re THUMPERS. :thumbup Just my opinion, hope it helps. Oh yeah, my old 2003 CRF450r was my first dirt bike. I had Dual Sports before and I would recommend the 450 as a good bike to learn on. (With Major Throttle Control) And a willingness to take baby steps. Chiricahua :wave

| Track Junkie | Well after looking at everything I decided when it's time that i'm going to get the WR450 it just felt right and the yamaha dealer was hella cool promt attention and the sales person answered every question i asked and wasn't pushy at all....the honda/suzuki/kawi dealer on the other hand i'm not sure about i stood there for ten min while one sales guy talked to his real estate buddy in another state about the weather and the other two stodd around talking to each other then the one finally got off the phone and went to tell the other two about his conversation...finally got pissed and said fairly loudly guess i'll go spend my money somewhere else.....and started to walk out and finally some other sales guy walks up from behind as i'm walking out asking if he can help me...i'm like no and left....
