And Chip, I went to rocket to check out the 675. Feels VERY different from the f4i. The guys in there were not nice though.

Draconius,

Where did you go to check out the 675???

Rocket is a cool shop if you really know the guys. it feels more like a club. for new Triumph buyers you might want to check out Southern California Triumph in Brea. price was great- service not so. NCY in North County is also pretty good if you want to shop local. Rocket's service is top notch. there is a lot of history there but it seems like they're happy selling a few bikes a month. They are a great shop if you get to know them. just remember- lowest price doesn't always mean best deal.

My buddy bought a Thruxton from them and brought it there for the 12K service. They quoted him $750 and didn't even tell him how long. Dropped it off...he didn't hear anything for 3 days...so he called, they said they would know sat. He calls sat. they said they haven't touched it yet, would be another week, and another $200. He called many other triumph dealers and they all quoted $750 and done in a few days. Needless to say he picked up his bike and brought it somewhere else.

I would say that is crappy service. And that is for a customer that BOUGHT his bike there.

You shouldn't have to "really know the guys" for it to be a good shop. My first experience is what should be the best...not later down the road as I get to know them...

Your right, that does sound like crappy service. I was a customer of Rocket for several years and had never had an experience like that. I also taught MSF courses with one of the managers there. Maybe I was treated differently. It's too bad 'cuase the guys there know thier stuff.
