| Track Junkie | Weird, you'd think all the CHP would have to say is if it's not SNELL or DOT approved you'll get a ticket.

| Know It All | Quigley for President!!!!! Finally some common sense in our legal system. Alright, before any of you start hemorrhaging from your ears and your wife simultaneously goes into a self induced hysterectomy, what I'm saying is; it SHOULD NOT be up to the government to dictate to me what "they" feel is safe or not. Personally, I think that if you don't wear a helmet while riding you need your head examined. Everyone with an I.Q. over 4 knows that helmets protect and save lives. However, that decision to, or not to wear a helmet should be up to the individual and not a Federal or State agency telling me so. This is the Land of the Free, remember. And please, please, please no one start up the argument about non-helmet related crashes, the uninsured and their subsequent bills left to the taxpayer. I will gladly have my taxes go to paying such debts in order to maintain my freedom of choice. |

iTrader: (1) Rep Power: 5 (62) | How about the brand new 18 y/o squid that doesn't realize that he even needs gear? How many guys do you see riding out there in shorts and t-shirts and helmets only because it's the law? I think the helmet law is a good thing not to take away anyone's freedom, but to instill good habits in new riders. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | land of the free argument? why have any laws at all? part of the governments responsability is to protect us, sometimes from ourselves. if we get rid of the helmet law, why not legalize heroine too? then again, should we really try to hinder natural selection from taking place?
