Yeah, for example my coworker doesn't like the V-Rod because it's water cooled. Says he'll never buy a non-air cooled Harley. The V-Rod is actually a modernized Harley, but the demographic is so stuck in the past that they won't accept change.

There have been a lot of technological advances not utilized by Harley.

I like the vrod, maybe because I like evolution in a manufacter. HOWEVER, I do have to smack harley with a big wet palm for the fact that it took when this long to put 6 speed trannies and counterbalancers in thier engines. There is something to be said for old school and "roots" however people take it overboard when they become ignorant to technology simply because of brand preferance. Harley's with a pipe and a honda cruiser with a pipe sound the same.

I have an idea, anyone remeber those Coke/Pepsi taste tests?

Well, what if u equipped two bikes, one honda and one harley (similar displacement) with the same model pipes from say vance and hines and then recorded sound clips from each. Take it to a harley convention and test people and see which they perfer. I bet more then a few would be surprised.

Yeah you probably heard me say some thing to that effect. Baffles me why some one would buy a new 50 year old bike. Just go out and buy a 50 year old bike.
