Clicky on that link. The writer argues that it's a myth.

I know, I'm just disagreeing.

I just don't like that style of bike. I got a little disgruntled when I was told I should get a cruiser for my first bike. It's all about personal preference.

I thought there was a saying along the lines of: "98% of HDs built in the US are still on the road... the other 2% actually made it home", or something like that...

I'm not a big fan of the fact that people buy (and pay MORE) for an inferior product because of the name.

I have this "discussion" with a coworker of mine all the time. He's always bringing up words like "Prestige" and says that all other cruiser manufacturers copy all of Harley's designs. I know there's a lot of history behind the Harley name... but I'm not one to buy a bike just for the label on the tank, ESPECIALLY if there are better bikes for less money. I kinda like the V-Rod, but it's TWICE the price it should be IMHO.

Since I'm not good at repeating what I hear, please excuse if I screw this up. Someone said that the Harley design is still stuck in the 50s. Something about it not being modernized?
