How can they say it wasn't retaliation when they showed up at Zorba's on a Tuesday???? They didn't go there on Monday or Wednesday because of course they know to go on a designated Bike Night...When will they learn that these types of tactics do nothing....A more positive approach of riding up on their bikes, parking, having a soda and burger with the riders would go much further as a positive form of influence...but of course that is not what they are after....its pure and simple profiling because we don't ride hogs...

It was nothing more than a "SHOW" to the public that they, the police, are responding. Nothing more. The only reason Harley riders don't stunt is cause they CAN'T.

Whoops.. found this...

Wow. Is it really the case that not one person on this site has a problem with gangs creating road blocks on the FREEways for their amusement?

No, I just think it's a case of people being more pissed off at cagers.

Well here is something that happened last month in a similar situation:

Arrest Made in Biker vs. Jaguar Shooting on Tollway Last Edited: Thursday, 12 Jul 2007, 10:06 AM CDT Created: Wednesday, 27 Jun 2007, 10:55 AM CDT [IMG]

Police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting last month on the Dallas North Tollway involving the driver of a jaguar and a group of bikers.

Steve Keith Williford, 34, was out on bond Thursday afternoon after being arrested Wednesday morning and charged with aggravated assault for his role in the shooting.

Video released by the North Texas Tollway Authority shows that just before the incident on June 10, the bikers were riding in a large group, doing wheelies and blocking all three southbound lanes. The driver of the car, John Williams, said that he accidentally hit one of the bikers while trying to pass and said that is when they attacked "like a swarm of bees."
He said some of the bikers kicked his car, leaving deep dents and knocking off the two side view mirrors, and that someone also shot at his vehicle, leaving it riddled with bullets.
On the day of the incident, Williams drove to a police station where some of the bikers had also showed up. They said that Williams had left the scene of an accident.
Williams said he wasn't able to identify any of the bikers because his windows were shot out and his mirrors were kicked off.

FOX 4 obtained the 911 call made by Williams while his car was being attacked.

In the call, he can be heard telling 911 operators that a group of men on motorcycles was shooting at his gold Jaguar.

So many bad choices in that story. Glad no-one was killed or seriously hurt (so it seems).

Those stunters are wrong on so many levels, and other "group rides" (cruisers and sportbikes alike) exhibit extreme selfishness too by blocking all available lanes. I see it weekly, typically before or after bike nights. I don't care if they're stunting or simply posing on their new shiny [race team replica] bikes (complete with 2" chicken strips). I have disdain for selfish people, that's all. Intentional like those stunters or unintentional like "soccer moms" (for the lack of a better term): doesn't matter. Though comparing two groups the inattentive cagers hurt hundreds if not thousands more motorists DAILY, not two times a year on a special stunting parade. It really doesn't matter WHY, as the outcome is exactly the same: jammed freeways.

P.S. I'd place a bet that ANY of those bikers whether in the story above or members of any other club or just a large group ride (able to block the entire road, doh) act just like ignorant SUVers while caging. If not worse. I actually posted a poll on lane blocking on another sportbike forum (full of coffee shop posers). Big mistake, as it eventually got me banned. We go to canyon rides and track days and only see friendly courteous fellow riders, but statistically sportbikers suck just as bad as the general driving population.

Anybody that behaves like a selfish prick while either riding or driving on the roads needs to be avoided. I've seen the group stunt rides on the freeway while on my bike and have taken evasive tactics to get away from those idiots. I've also seen them while in my car, and those riders have absolutely no respect for other drivers/riders on the road. You want to stunt your bike? Do it where it's safe, not on a freeway where cars, trucks, big rigs, etc are doing 65+ mph. The roads are not YOUR playground. They are there for folks to get from Point A to Point B. As far as the cops saying they didn't retaliate... BS. They retaliated alright. Don't go moseying up to where we all congregate and write us up for petty ****, instead go ahead and patrol and pop folks for more serious deeds. Jacka$$es ruin it for the rest of us.

Alright, I don't go to bike nights though respect those who do, but in this particular case I support cops 100%. That bike night cleansing wasn't retaliation. One example of retaliation is ticketing a commuter rider for FE, especially someone stopped to help a motorcycle crash victim (got there before CHP) ; And doing so even before checking on the bleeding victim. The hate (desire for retaliation) overshadowed everything else. It happened to me on 405. Am I related to stunters or my bike looks like a stunting machine? Cops know how stunting bikes look like. And everyone knows what happens at bike nights, especially big ones. Cops came for stunters and found plenty of them.

I also don't subscribe to "jacka$$es ruin it for all of us" theory. Just like some religions, we're "born sinful". We're evil to the general population by definition. Just because we drive race replica bikes on public roads. You think someone who drives an Excursion for its safety rating would understand how people can drive sports cars and even comprehend the purpose of riding anything on two wheels? Cops are simply taught to target sportbikes just like other fast vehicles. If their superiors (LE politicians) decide to start a targeted enforcement campaign, cops are to follow orders. It can be justified like in this case or it can happen without any reason at all. We're prey cause we are lower in the food chain. Don't blame any stunters for that; It's simply natural way of things.

.
Of course it's retaliation. I don't agree with it but I understand it. If they wanted to really just go after the stunters it would be easier to have an officer ride up on their personal bike and then go on to whatever super secret stunt spot that someone always goes around telling everyone to follow them to. Once there they could call in the troops.....Heck; I'm even OK with them checking for motorcycle endorcements on the license. But just showing up to harass a gathering of people because they ride motorcycles is wrong. Drunk Driving kills more people so why don't they just go into the bars to watch who is drinking and arrest them as soon as they get in their cars....
