So, lets say a rider is knocked over the center divider wall and lands in the oncoming freeway lanes...you sure he'd be dead? I'm guessing there's more to this accident than Frank or the news is willing to say (or knows). BTW, the media got the story from a CHP press release, which would have included witness information. They're not always 100% accurate, but more often than not they're pretty close. Either way, sorry to hear this. RIP | |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 3 (10) | I don't think they even react....they just keep going down the freeway sippin their triple lattes. Remeber that Marine Officer bicyclist that was a hit and run back in 2006? Man that one really bugged me because the guy who did it KNEW he hit someone and he wasn't a citizen. Which meant all that will happen is he'll get deported. When I ride, I either pass the SUV's/Minivans or I don't even ride near them. Even the regular cagers are clueless but not as much as those guys. The thing that really buggs me is when I see some cager in the far left doing 60 and when I pass him/her they are looking at those damn phones! Yes he was doing something boneheaded but I feel that little bit extra attention on the freeway would have made all the difference. That and the minimization of the renound "Nut to Butt" driving. R.I.P.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 6 (16) | As far as reaction goes clumsy cagers (that's 95% of them) do react, but whether they react in time or if their reaction is appropriate for the situation... these are two interesting question. I've come to conclusion that I don't want them to react at all - because the chances are they'd do something stupid being stupid drivers. You don't want a soccer dad drop his hot coffee and swerve into you. Second don't blame everything on illegals or other immigrants. More often than not I see the ignorance expressed by well-off well-fed upper middle class [white] American-born Americans, but that's my opinion and experience. And Andy, how often miracles happen? Knock on wood. |

iTrader: (3) Rep Power: 5 (30) | So his buddy is saying he was splitting lanes and wheeling or just splitting? I would say someone saw him wheelie and told the news? How does his buddy know was he there with him when it all happened? It is sad... for sure When you live life you can die... Sometimes in full speed. As they say it's no much the crash that kills you but the sudden stop. Sucks for you to lose your buddy Mikey but sucks for his family who brought him up and will not see his face again.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (15) | So let me get this straight, he was riding aggressively on the freeway, splitting lanes, doin wheelies, etc. He "gets clipped" by a car, or just as likely he misjudges his lane split and clips a car himself, which ends in him crashing in front of and being run over by a car moving at freeway speeds, and you guys are talking trash on the driver of the car? Nowhere in there did I see mention of sipping lattes or talking on cell phones being the cause of this crash. It sucks that he lost his life, but sounds to me like he won that darwin award all on his own.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | Motorcycle accidents are mainly casued by riders themselves. There are instances that nothing can be done about it, but in this situation, I believe he signed his own death wish. It's dangerous enough riding on public roads normally, why add to the formula? Regardless, its bad news. RIP |
