Default Question about security!

So I was at Fun Bike Center yesterday drooling at the new 08 GSX-R600's and I then went to look at cables/chains/disc locks to go overkill on securing my bike. I then came across this puppy!

Anyone have any experience with it?
bike brace motorcycle anti-theft system - affordable motorcycle security

It is like $180 at Funbike. I would talk to my complex to see if it is ok to install it into their concrete. I was also going to get the Kryptonite NY Chain for the front wheel on top of the bike brace on the rear wheel.

Also, are there any locks that cover/protect the ignition from being accessed when away from your bike? That would be an awesome deterrent for thieves.

Might also pick one of these up.
Lever Locks

This model is the one I would look into getting:

Pablo had it "tested" by "skilled professionals" as I remember. I'd simply remove the front wheel - no special tools required and can be done under a minute by someone who really knows his job.

Shared apartment parkings and garages are never safe. Assuming you're going to finance it (most people do) which would require full coverage the only advice I have don't excessively mod the bike or get attached.

Did you read my post? Front wheel to have the kryptonite chain, rear wheel to have bike brace that has the axel protection so you can't even get to the axel bolts.

I always get full coverage, GAP insurance, and will be looking into the Theft protection (etched ID on bike that if not recovered in 30 days you get either $2,500, $5,000 or $6,000 in cash towards a new bike.)

I don't mod my bikes anyhow btw...all I do if anything is some paint protection, remove license plate arm, and powder coat the rearsets/passenger pegs.

It'll definately take a little longer to get your bike with all those things...... at least an extra 10-20 seconds. Find a friend close by with a garage & pay to keep it there if possible.

You think only 20 seconds to get through that thing?

There are garages available in my complex...they are $100/mo. The advantage of the carport I have is the space holds 2 cars.

Get a few friends to go in on the garage & set it up with video surveillance.

I was thinking of getting a fake camera with one of those you're on camera signs...

There are a few other motorcyclists on the complex...maybe I could put out a flyer/pamphlet asking interest.

Hopefully they are good honest people you can "Trust." I think it would be the best way to go if possible. Better if your bike can not bee seen since theives seem to love a good challenge.

I should make a naked bike that when it is ridden by someone that is not me, it explodes 5 minutes later and then I will know who stole it and also they get what is coming for them.

I have a great idea!! Make a full sized cardboard bike and set up a video camera or three to see who comes calling.........
