Default Mirrored faceshields...

I was wondering if there is anything against having ma mirrored faceshield for the track. I don't do a lot....ok I have yet to do a trackday, but I will, and I was wondering if they are acceptable. All of my street riding is done during the day and this is the main reason I wanted to get one. I know they have smoke and dark smoke but mirrored will just look better. Also, for the track, are those chrme windscreens acceptable, or are you supposed to be able to see through the windscreen? Thanks.

It might depend on who's running the event. I've used mine at SBW track days.

edit: I thought you meant helmet visor ... oops

It's just a trackday. If you get so far down behind it that you can't see, sit up.

As long as you find a matching mohawk to go with it

So, for the most part, they should both be ok? Cool. I'll probably change the windscreen back to stock if I ever get a new bike and my current one will be track only, but since I don't have to hide behind the screen at freeway speeds, I'm keepin the chrome till then. And as for the mohawk, Seriously, that is major wind resistance probably at least .4 sec a lap.J/K

I have never been to a track event where your windscreen or visor was a discriminator. With the sun out here it would crazy not to run a tinted visor of some kind.

I love my mirrored shield and wear it everytime so you shouldn't have a problem. Its a good idea to keep a clear shield along with your tinted/mirrored one also while at the track. You never know if you will need it. As far your windscreen goes, I removed my DB dark smoke after realizing how hard it is to see through at 150+, it's usually not a good idea to pop your head up at that speed so I quickly went back to a clear one. Some bikes are different though and you can get away with the dark one no problem. That being said, I still have a dark one on my street bike and a clear one for my track bike.

It's very uncommon for someone on the track to have a chrome windscreen, but don't let that stop you if it makes you happy.

I don't see any issue with it.
