iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 1 (10) | This is why they need to make 'Imobilizer' for bikes. It knocks the thieves unconcious for up to 8 hours I heard. Or if the bike gets rolled away they get tazed by the handgrips. I know you love your bike brother; but I hope that Mother F***** crashes! And I hope it is serious. That is mean to say but he/she deserves it! I'll be on the look out. Oh for you next baby you may really want to buy this: GPS-Snitch | Home. It provides realtime tracking!!!!!!

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | First off: 1. I hate motherf_cking thieves. 2. I wanna kill them all (of course). 3. Wait, before I kill them, I want to torture them in the sickest and most sadistic way (insert your favorite fantasy about their genitalia). and now my favorite: 4. Why don't those lazy bastards get a job? You know, a "normal" 8 to 5 job, us hardworking law-abiding tax-paying people have. Having this out of my system... It was probably already in pieces when you were typing your initial post. Why you want it back anyway? Consider it a successful sale of your bike. Collect the money from insurance and buy a newer better model. You probably didn't care or craved anything new, but here's your chance to get the best out of this situation. If you didn't have theft coverage (as part of comprehensive or whatever) and kept your bike in a shared apartment complex garage where they get stolen sooner or later... It's just the question of time until the thief spots it or one of the neighborhood kids talks about your bike with admiration to his cousin and then that cousin to his friend or cousin and so on until it reaches the thief. Or any of the service people do the same: tell about it to their family and friends. In any case your bike is exposed even if you keep under cover or behind your car. So if you didn't account for this event (in the form of theft coverage)... judging by your very thin chicken strips you've been around long enough to know better. Would I wish you good luck on recovering your bike? No. Good luck on collecting the insurance money. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | mofo-the main reason i want it back? it's a salvaged title. i do have full coverage on it, but salvage vehicle value is usually drastically lower, 20-33% of the real value from what i've gathered. even if i get it back totaled, i'll be covered minus my deductible. BUT, if it's not recovered, i'm guessing they'll pay out the salvage value, not the clean title value. so i may end up only getting around $2k instead of $7k. so, i probably won't be upgrading to a better, newer bike. most likely taking a step down. i'm guessing an SV650 is in my near future. so yeah, i definitely want it back. plus a all of the fingers from the thief's dominant hand. maybe a foot too. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | Hard to tell. I'd ask an independent (third party) insurance professional. I think (and hope) the title doesn't matter. Or perhaps it's one of the gray areas where you can persuade them to overlook it. E.g. find a similar bike or several in CT or CL, and give them that list. As far as buying the replacement bike. With the economy downturn and dealers eager to meet their annual targets you never know what deals will be there at the end of the year. In any case good luck on either option. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | Well, I finally got the check from insurance! they gave me $6k, so definitely better than i was expecting! now the search begins for a new bike. i'm still torn on what i want, but i'm leaning more towards a naked bike since it's my daily commuter/canyon/track bike and would rather go a little more comfy. plus, it's probably less likely to get stolen! i'm thinking SV650, Z1000, or street triple (i like the triple the most, but unfortunately it's more than i want to spend.) |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (28) | My roommate just got a "new" FZ6 this morning. I say "new" because it actually had 1 mile on it when I did the test ride. Long story short, the guy needed the $ and had never even ridden it, it was delivered to his place by the dealer. He saved a good deal of money on it, as he paid $5200 and KBB is $5600. The guy also just threw in the lock and cover! It's quite a nice bike. Of course it lacks the low end of my FZ1, but I noticed that redline is at 14,000. I want to ride it again after it's broken in. Felt light and very easy to handle - me likey! You might want to consider one.
