#5 never happens......cagers are always polite and pull over for motorcycles realizing that they are holding up traffic flow....

Do I agree that more bikes can lead to problems? I already agreed to that.

Not your cup of tea? No sweat. Stick with riding with a small group of guys you trust.

Personally, I enjoy both.

For a second there I thought you said you like getting ridden by a large group of guys... that's a little gay man. haha

I don't mind large group rides, I just stay up the front - but if you're in the
sh!t-fight in the middle and you don't know the other riders tendencies it can be down right dangerous... so I just prefer to keep it to a group of buds that I know and trust - since its my life on the line if someone comes along and takes me out - anyone who's ridden with me i think can totally trust I'm not gonna make some bonehead move and cause a situation (sorry Brendan - you can't comment since we were two wide only that one time messing around)

That was the exact scenario I was going to bring up as I started reading your post. If it were anyone else it could have been dangerous but you and I have ridden together so much that I trust you and I know you had to have trusted me or you would not have gone 2 wide with me through that turn.

I agree with it all and most of the replies, seemingly rude ones included but for highway riding: short hops of 10 miles or less name the exit, every person for themselves and regroup at the exit or a convenient point near it. I've seen and been a part of large groups becoming a nuisance on the freeway esp. when noobs are in amongst the group, it's down right scary to me, we each have are own highway survival technique and 'large group etiquette' seems to defy that IMHO.

I definitely try to ride with smaller groups of trustworthy folk, prefer no more than a dozen (rarely do we get that size up here in the desert). Must trust everyone in the group, and prefer to know them on a personal level. That way I can fish out the stunta's ahead of time. Of course, excellent communication skills for a pre-ride brief is a must. SpeedExtreme and I have been riding together for ~8 years now, we still pre-brief -even if its just the two of us riding a familiar route. Most of the guys I ride with are familiar with the aviation mentality. 'Round here everyone pre-brief's for everything, its just natural.

I thought on the freeway, you get 5 guys with vest to slow down all the traffic so that the cool guys can wheelie up in front?
