| Newbie | For a second there I thought you said you like getting ridden by a large group of guys... that's a little gay man. haha I don't mind large group rides, I just stay up the front - but if you're in the sh!t-fight in the middle and you don't know the other riders tendencies it can be down right dangerous... so I just prefer to keep it to a group of buds that I know and trust - since its my life on the line if someone comes along and takes me out - anyone who's ridden with me i think can totally trust I'm not gonna make some bonehead move and cause a situation (sorry Brendan - you can't comment since we were two wide only that one time messing around)

That was the exact scenario I was going to bring up as I started reading your post. If it were anyone else it could have been dangerous but you and I have ridden together so much that I trust you and I know you had to have trusted me or you would not have gone 2 wide with me through that turn.![]() | |

I've seen and been a part of large groups becoming a nuisance on the freeway esp. when noobs are in amongst the group, it's down right scary to me, we each have are own highway survival technique and 'large group etiquette' seems to defy that IMHO.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (33) | I definitely try to ride with smaller groups of trustworthy folk, prefer no more than a dozen (rarely do we get that size up here in the desert). Must trust everyone in the group, and prefer to know them on a personal level. That way I can fish out the stunta's ahead of time. Of course, excellent communication skills for a pre-ride brief is a must. SpeedExtreme and I have been riding together for ~8 years now, we still pre-brief -even if its just the two of us riding a familiar route. Most of the guys I ride with are familiar with the aviation mentality. 'Round here everyone pre-brief's for everything, its just natural. |
