The standard AAA plan does not cover motorcycles for towing, only your car. If you want your motorcycle covered so that in the event something happens you have to add it which is around $40 on top of the normal AAA membership.

Bwahahahaha I love the last "note". I guess this extra charge stems from the fact that most people only see motorcycles as recreation vehicles and not forms of daily transportation.

If the pickup truck hadn't been coming from the other side he would not have suffered as much :-( luckily though it was jacked up enough that his life was spared. Had it been a car he would have been in much worse condition. I'm probably going to go see him today, will report back after. Again, everyone who was there and helped, a big thanks.
Update on Ric?

hi guys,
First of all a big thanks to Fred(i think), I think I can remember talking to you for some time about your four kids, and many others, I know for sure talked to me, but just cant remember, whilst i was stuck.

Glad you didn't drag me out. i was in a suprinsingly large space underneath the truck. In fact I could do with finding the truck driver to tell him that he has a small oil leak from his left driveshaft.

As for me, I'll fix. Still in hospital for some time yet, but I sat for 3hrs yesterday. Got my broken arm arm plated today so no progress today.

Many thanks again to all those who helped out, hope I did spoil your ride too much.

Ric

hes still in the ICU at Palomar. Broken arm, punctured lung, broken tail bone, fractured pelvis, damaged hip socket, both clavicles broken. The doctors don't want to operate on him cause he has anemia and some heart problem. Paul (Mgfchapin) and I went to see him today but couldn't get in as they were in the middle of shift change. He sounded like he was in good spirits though, must be in a hell of a lot of pain/discomfort. Wishing him the best and hoping he gets through this quickly. Paul and I were talking today about what a wonderful group of guys you are, people went out of their way to help with his bike and gear and all. I know I feel a lot better riding out there knowing that you guys are there to help if something bad were ever to happen. Rock On!

Good to hear from you Ric, I hadn't seen anything on your condition yet & have been very concerned. Please take me seriously when I say let me know if there's anything I can do to help out, even if it's just a visit to the hospital & some reading material.

I managed to get out of ICU early Tues, left upper arm broken, just plated, left lung tube removed, fractured pelvis & tailbone. Ball joint at top of leg pinned back on and only left clavicle. Got blood yesterday, arm plated today. Not too bad really :-)

Tailbone only really painfull item and only when I move. standing up is an issue. but give it 3weeks.

Once again a great group of guys.

Wow! That's quite a long list of things that need mending! You guys are good friends to go visit him in the hospital.

GET WELL SOON Ric!

Good to know it was only one clavicle. You have a hot nurse there typing for you or something?
