iTrader: (1) Rep Power: 2 (13) | I just heard the bad new's that Metzeler Tires / Western States Performance Tires Dave Stephens passed away this morning at 4am of complications from cancer. I last saw Dave at the Long Beach Supermoto finale and he had lost a little weight, but he did think anything was wrong but a ulcer. He thought it was stress related and did not know he actually had esophacgal cancer. (Stress causes acid reflux) BTW He did not smoke, drink or anything I know of except maybe some coffee. Once he found out he fought hard and put on the tough guy face and told his friends he was fine and they caught the cancer early enough and things would be fine I was a dumb guy like most of his friends and believed him, why would my friend of almost 3 years lie to me or any of us? He was ill for a very short period of time, it took him fast. The sport or sport bikes, Supermoto and off-road has lost a true enthusist and a friend. Dave ran Metzeler's sales at road racing track days and AMA and reginal Supermoto events around the west, and some Pirelli off-road stuff as well. For you that knew Dave, you know how kind he was and what he was all about. His daughter has special needs and I was always was impressed that he took her EVERYWHERE he went. He told me more than once "She is the reason I get up in the morning" And those were not just words, Dave meant it. I am bummed beyond belief and I just wanted you that knew Dave to know this terrible news. Make sure to let the people you dig, like, love or just wanna hug how you feel about him. |
