| Canyon Carver | Well now that I've napped and did my job hunting for the day, all I can say is it makes me smile at how much fun I had out there. Lots of new faces, putting screen names to faces, etc. I think we ran the day pretty dang good for our first SBW day. The day started out strong, track warmed up and got some people out there having some fun. Could just see it by watching conversations walking through the pits. Meet quite a few people, all said they were having a good time! Which is exactly what we were out there for! As far as the riding....I think I need to apologize...I went out in the B for about maybe 10min and then the light suddenly clicked on that the pace was way off from A. So yeah I pulled back in. Definately didn't mean to do that, I saw a group just pull out and rushed out without my vest on thinking it was A group. But I think the highlight of the day is around 3:30 or so I saw Craig and Dave Moss head out and I quickly dawned my gear and headed to the grid to wait for them to pass. Saw them coming down the straight and timed it perfectly to enter right behind them. Proceeded to latch on and ride Dave's rear wheel the whole time, coulda made some passes on Dave but didn't want to stuff him. SOOOOOOO much fun! I hope we didn't spook anyone in the A group while doing that, but in my judgement nothing but good clean passes were made which is a thing of beauty. I have to say tho, my favorite comment was made by Dave. He mentioned he knew I was there becasue he could hear the roar of my duc on the entrances and exits. Muahahahah I hope everyone had a good day and seems like everyone is saying they did so lets make the Pahrump event the same!

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (21) | Here's a quick vid of Dave and Dallas that I put together... I have lots more footage from the pits and such, but It's alot of little clips that require more editing. I will have it up this weekend. Enjoy! (Yes...I know I'm slow )

Nice video!!!! I have a lot to work on, like being smooth on the brakes, better braking points.... And most of all my lines...

That was half way through the day and I was even more comfortable at the end of the day, but the camera was out of commission. After working with a few guys on some pointers...it was like a light switch turned on and I was way faster. I kept asking myself...is everyone else slowing down or am I speeding up? I want to do BW again this year so maybe we can hook up later in the fall on a BW day Rich. I already have a huge craving for more. Thanks for the kind words everyone! ![]()

iTrader: (1) Rep Power: 5 (62) | Alright, now that I've got a second, a few comments about the day. Wow, it was awesome. I had such a great time!!! I don't think I took longer than a 10 minute break most of the day. Dave Moss was such a great help getting my suspension dialed in. It was great to ride with and work with everyone that I was able to get to out there. If I missed you, or didn't get to lap with you for a bit, I'm sorry, we'll have to do it next time!!! And man, talk about wide open track with lots and lots of tracktime!!! I don't think I've ever been to a day that was that wide open, with that much time to work. Even though I did spend a lot of time re-learning my bike since I've completely redone all the suspension and brakes, towards the end of the day things were just getting better and better. I'm tired and a little sore, but definitely ready to do it all over again!!! Also, just want to thank Dallas (StinkBug) for offering up his motorhome and trailer for the trek up and back. It made the trip so easy. Thanks man!!! Alex, Dave, and Dallas, it was a lot of fun working with you. You all made great progress throughout the day. Here are a few pics for your enjoyment. |
