| Banned | What a great day today weather was beautiful was warm in spots. Wind was a little strong down in SD but was clear as a result. I actually forgot how theraputic it is to ride even something as simple as the beginning of the day of the ride. I made green tea as I usually do and did some stretching excerses (thank you TaeKwonDo) and got my gear on, forgot it takes a bit to get everything on pants backprotector, boots and the jacket but again very theraputic. I get on buzz to the corner gas and head on out. Rode through Ortega stopped at the Lookout got some water and coffee said hi to Gene "Scargk" and was on the road after 20mins or so. Headed south on the 15 minding my own business rolling with the traffic and dam just like I was warned online CHP and he's pulling me over. My crime!! doing 85 in a 70 and yes I was basically rolling with the early morning traffic don't know if I was just the lucky one or fit the standard sportbike profile either way got my ticket and was back on the road. Palomar was as beautiful as I remembered. I got some quick pics (see below) of my accident scene as this was the first time there since June 26th of this year. Stopped at the turnout a nice guy took a pic of me with my new lid (old gloves don't laugh I ordered some last week but they did not show up as promised). I made a few nice comfortable runs up and down bike is running and handling real nice, then buzzed out headed back out the 76 to the 5north. Was rolling along "again" I get past San Onofre coming up on San Clemente and get pulled over by OC Sherrif. I stopped took my gloves off and waited for him to approach. This stuck me as odd but he instructs me to get off the bike???? I'm like ok got off immediatly (thinking wtf?? never has this happened) complied with the officers request for DL,Ins and Reg. I tell him "this will be the second ticket for me today" as I hand the items to him. He replies much to my shock again "what makes you think your gonna get a ticket??" (again thinking to myself WTF?? nice opening for an out ) anyway I reply an honest "I was going to fast" as I hand him the ticket received earlier in the day. I know never admit to speeding right but follow through here, he says "I pulled you over for sharing lanes at 80mph and whereas it is normally fine to share lanes its not fine to do it at 80mph" My replies during this coversation are a simple "yes sir". He then says "I need you to slow down" I reply "yes sir" and he hands me back my paperwork and I'm on my way. So all in all was a good day. I still wonder this though. I was lane splitting at 80mph which even though I was comfortable would be much more dangerous than rolling 85 mph on a much wider road with less traffic right? Well if traffic enforcement is to help why did I get a break on the more dangerous infraction(IMO)? Is it because the first officer was CHP and the second was OC Sherrif? Was it because the CHP guy is working a targeted area or targeted vehicle profile and are required to writeup every stop? I'm sure my demeaner did not make a difference as both stops were handled in the same manor by me both were MotorCops so again no difference there. Just a thought as to why this is. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| Banned | it was quiet today for sure, there was a cop we saw taking an incident report guess one of the local mafia was passing on the outside and the newer rider was on the inside and bumped him. I'm not sure if the cop was there anyway or if he was called but he took the report and bugged out. I made a few runs after that and it was pretty clear of bikes and cars for the most part. hehe it seemed like the bicycles almost outnumbered us in the parking lot by 1pm Deb I hope you get your day ASAP! And your welcome for making you jealous :welcome you know I was happy to do it! |

| Know It All | I suppose you could think of it in these terms...last time you were there it cost you much more than a ticket. Still a kick in the pants when a mans trying to get up. Glad to hear you're back. I look forward to my first ride back too... :thumbup |
