iTrader: (5) Rep Power: 15 (42) | So, what do you make of this anti-income tax film? America Freedom to Fascism Authorized version If it's not really in the constitution to tax our income then why do we let Uncle Sam get away with it? :dunno |

| Track Junkie | I don't mind paying, as to keep a comfortable lifestyle. My biggest complaint is how the money is spent/abused... Less government would be great.

| Know It All | here's an Idea we in crease the tax rate to an even 10% BUT we give the individual consumer control as to what his or her 10% goes to such as roads school, drug awareness homeland security etc. etc. if the individual can choose how much of his tax goes to whichever place they decide as far as federal programs it will cause the gov't to work to get $$ for its specific programs.. now theres a pipe dream for you... |

| Know It All | Quick google search shows me the 16th Amendment give Congress the power to lay and collect taxes...etc etc... All your arguments againts taxation can be (unfortunately) shot down by reading this website http://www.unclefed.com/Tax-Help/friv_tax.html I as unhappy as any, since my income looks pretty good, until you take taxes into account, then I'm not doin so hot. Just got my biweekly paystub today. 307.65 Federal, 135.56 FICA,31.70 Medicare, 101.79 CA state, 17.49 state disability ins) POW $594.19 or $1188.38 per month. (little more if you count the 2 extra paychecks per year) That $1200 would make a nice house payment gawddammit. :wtf Stupid politicians, they are all rich anyway so what do they care :asshat

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (33) | Seems like some of this arguement from Ruzzo is based on Ohio's votes? Some facts: Any ratification of the Constitution requires at least 75% vote. 38/50 States ratified the 16th Amendment, which is 76%. Without one vote, we would of had 37/50, or 74%. However, during the time of the ratification, there were only 48 states (no Alaska, or Hawaii). So 38/48=79%, and 37/48=77%. At this rate, this means there needed to be at least four more states who did not ratify. But this was not the case. Some of this arguement seems to derive from Ohio's vote for some reason. They became a state of the Union on March 1st 1803(http://www.50states.com/statehood.htm). And ratified the 16th Amendment on January 19th 1911 (http://www.usconstitution.net/constamrat.html#Am16). In fact, I checked every state that ratified the 16th. All of them had statehood prior to the ratification. The ratification of the 16th reads: "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration." (http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_Am16.html) Not sure what the arguement is here regarding the 16th Amendment? Am I missing something? :dunno :confused Here's some other interesting reading: http://supreme.lp.findlaw.com/consti...ment16/02.html. It refers to the 16th Amendment and corporate taxation ONLY. But this source I cannot back up with other corllabrating sources. As much as this movie (and I watched it all) incited me regarding income taxation, I'm gunna have to be forced to pay my income taxes for now. :thumbdown As for the National ID card, I hope this isn't the case!! 666... Mark of the Beast... if it goes too far! Of course all this is just my :2cents. As my favorite news station says: We Report, You Decide. |
