iTrader: (5) Rep Power: 16 (42) | Last night was the second time I have called into the 911 system to report a drunk driver & after 3 calls while following him/her & almost witnessing an accident, the CHP couldn't make it out. I followed this drunk driver from before Irwindale on the 210E to Mountain Ave off the 60E. Unfortunately all I could get was a description of the car & what was on the "Paper Plate." :pat It did give me something to do but I'm not so sure I want to waste my energy again. Recently, I was informed that the CHP along with most other LE agencies are lacking in personel. Looks like a good time to get into Law Enforcement if that's your desire. Have you called to report a drunk driver & if so, what was the outcome? :dunno I'm on the road a lot at night, should I continue to put forth the effort? :headscratch |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 7 (22) | I definately think you should call 911 to report it. Imagine if you call in 100 drunk drivers, and the police are only able to get one driver out of that 100. You may have just saved a life.

| Squid | Yes, you should definitely report it. Why? Because drunk driving is very dangerous, stupid, potentially deadly to themselves, and even more so - they are usually more deadly to the clueless innocents around them. So if you do happen to see someone driving in a dangerous manner - I think it would be your duty as a responsible & concerned citizen to call it in. I do. In fact, I'll get all the info and even follow them if I'm able. I once witnessed a big truck in the HOV lane side-swipe a car in the #1 lane. The car was stopped in traffic and could do nothing, the big truck kept right on going, still swerving around dangerously. I followed the truck, got all the info - and called it in to 911. They took the info. At least they'll have the info I provided if the car owner calls in...or if anything else happens. Sometimes one of the most valuable things in life is that one little thing that a total stranger could do - and did - even though there was no prize and no guarantee that anything would come of it. Warning - the 911 operators are not always very friendly or cooperative - but that's no excuse to not do it. You can only do your part and leave the things out of your control in the hands of fate.

| Know It All | 1 800 tell chp works better than 911 and gets you directly to CHP dispatch I call them in ALL the time, but be prepared to go to court as a witness if they convict -SF

| Canyon Carver | Oh you'd better believe I call and report those guys. Sadly a person I was associating with recently, she had called me to tell me that she had made the poor decision to get behind the wheel drunk. I proceeded to give her a new one over the phone....moron. But in the past yeah I have called in to 911 to report a drunk driver. Sadly I had to keep on heading to work but I gave a great description of the vehicle and the license plate number, so I hope the Chippie's got ahold of the fellow.
