| Canyon Carver | No love for the parallel twin? (EX500) :greenflip I've only ridden the parallel twin and the inline 4's. I like the smoother response of the inline. Mind you, I'm comparing two bikes with 12 years engineering between them, and a 100cc (60hp) difference. Anyone make a 600 class V twin I can try? :wave Honestly, I want to see a V6 big-bang bike. Would be interesting. |

| Canyon Carver | Right now for me its still a tossup as to what I like or prefer more. I've ridden a V-twin a Mille R courtesy of SPEED and I didn't really get to wring it out to feel what it was all about. But my initial impression was you twist and you go, probably a bit different riding style as compared to my inline 750. The 750 I love, its smooth, it pulls up top and I know where the power begins so I can eventually find the optimal situation for the bike with a matter of time. I've always wanted to ride an RC-51 to see what all the fuss is about, but no souls willing to let me ride it and see what its like. I came close to trading the 750 for an RC51 but decided against it since I've never ridden one. Ohhh yeah and YES the V-twins sound waayyyyyyy better :happyb

| Newbie | I have to say that I love V twins but I'm still leaning a bit towards in line Fours. I finally got to ride my buddys Mille at the crest this afternoon, it was awsome! But felt drasticly different I cant really place it. The tourque was deffinatly nice but I'm not a very heavy guy (147 lbs) so the revvy no tourqueness of my 636 does just fine for me... To the inline 3's I'd love to ride one! Nobody I know owns a triumph and I dont think they'd let me ride it :biglaugh |

| Squid | Very cool byron, i guess you bugged the crap outta that dude and he finally said "ok fine here!" lol As for me...I really don't care right now. If it has an engine and two wheels i'm all for it. LOL I've ridden both twins and I4's at the track and it was a vastly different experience. Can't really say that i liked one better than the other though...

| Newbie | Maybe you twinners can help me out here: As I voted, I've only ridden I-4's. My 954 acts just like a late model I-4 liter-bike should. My Bandit (with it's re-tuned for torque) makes max (stock) torque of 70 pounds at around 4500 rpm's (kinda like a twin, I'm guessing) and hold's it straight across the board until red-line. With the newer liters, they seem to be making an incredible amount of mid-range torque vs. all up top, like it used to be. Not taking into consideration rotating-mass-inertia with engine configs (steering differences), and the "big-bang" effect of the twins (traction differences), are the twins now losing out on what I like to call "Pulling Power?" :dunno

| Track Junkie | Blah! And on the 5 the day Hondasan made the V Four...and it was good. My 99' Interceptor is a great all-arounder'. Loads of torque all thru the power band and no top end problems. Ride it every day to work. With the gear driven timing and rumpity thump tone it sounds like a Supercharged small block chevy. I will own a TLR 1000s (or RC 51) if not for the fact that while riding a friends V twin super bike, a Harley guy looked the bike up and down at the stop light and just above the sound of the sound of the Tillers heart beat altering tone said "It'll do". When the light turned green It did. :biglaugh It still brings a smile to my face thinking about riding that thing, and the girls...well they couldn't get enough. My dedicated track day tool will be an I4 (600), Kawi, Yamaha or Honda. Just don't care for the looks on the Suzuki but all the big fours bikes are so close performance wise would I ever really notice a lap time differnce once I got use to the bikes set up and ergos? My vote, well I'm waiting for the V-five! :funflip

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (11) | I know I am a minority but I even like the Vtec feature of my v-four. Seond to that the Inline twin RZ350 engine. I am also partial to the single cylinder engine.... then maybe the inline four. Dying to try a V-Twin |
