Tommy was kicking a$$ out there, and only had a couple laps to take that race. It was disheartening to say the least. What a trooper for getting right back in the saddle with an injured hand. :deathmetal :patriotflag

What did you guys think about the incident with the lapper that took Tommy out?
That incident and it's replays almost ended in drunken posturing and threats of violence at the viewing party I was at.
Lots of differing opinions.
Personally I think the lapper under a blue flag had an obligation to stay off the race line and avoid the leaders.
But then again I was drinking heavily and am still on medication.

Didn't get a real good look at it, but if the lapper was getting the blue flag, it's his responsibility to move over. Sometimes the cornerworkers are a little slow about getting the blue flag out as well as the others. :pat

I heard the lapper might have been WSMC regular Skye Girard? Don't qoute me on it though. I didnt see the incident so I cant comment. But reguardless, its is ALWAYS the passers responsability to make a clean pass. You cant see who is comming up your ass in fractions of a second.

That's what was reported during the race. I didn't look up Skye's AMA # though. To me it looked like Tommy could have taken the inside but didn't and then tried to make contact before running out of trackto get him to move over which caused his bars to turn sending him into the dirt. Skye's line looked very predictable and he held his line and Tommy should have went on the inside imho. :dunno

The lapper was heading off the race line. That's what made Tommy go wide. Tommy tried to take him on the outside, but was pushed out onto the rumble strip and then into the gravel. It's pretty up in the air on who was at fault. In my opinion Tommy made a bad call on going to the outside. Even if he had got around the lapper before T4 he wouldn't have had position for the corner and would have lost the lead. This is what it looked like to me standing at the fence right before T4. I haven't watched the race on Speed yet so I don't know what it looked like on TV.
