That's why I mentioned the rear bake.. It will slow you down enough to make the turn without standing the bike up or leaning it over more. Keep the throttle the same as you apply the brake, this will tighten your line. Don't stab it just, add pressure slowly so you don't lock the rear wheel..

getting off the throttle does too bad things; adds more weight to the front which increases your chance of washing the front AND it takes tension out of your rear suspension, which will actually lower the bike and can lowside you at max lean....

If you are leaned over to the point where any more countersteering will cause you lowside, then... In theory, if you lean farther INTO the turn with your body, you should create more lean angle (because when you hang off, you don't have to lean the bike as much, correct?), but odds are you'll either upset the bike and lose grip or you'll lean closer to the ground rather than into the turn, lower the CG of the bike, which (if I recall correctly) will actuallly require MORe lean angle from the bike to make the same corner, thereby, you're screwed.

So here is the question which seems simple enough.

When at full lean in a corner and you need to correct to tighten up your line do you steer away from the turn (counter steer like you do to initialise the turn) or do you steer into the turn?
For example if you are in a right hand turn and need to tighten your line, are you turning the bars left (away from the direction you are turning) or to the right, with the direction of the turn?

I've never really stopped to think about what inputs I am giving the bars when riding so I was not 100% sure on the answer.
rereading the initial post now applying it to real world situation...

(i.e.) Turn 1 at Pahrump...

this situation if i am too hot and going wide... to tighten up I usually just back off on the throttle a bit. no big adjustments to steering... you're already leaned over so the decrease in speed will bring you closer. no huge upset in suspension either.

*i'll keep this post in mind as I will be riding Pahrump this weekend and will give it a test!

Not sure about the rear brake like the last one said cuz I stay away from the rear brake unless trying to steer by sliding the rear. But for sure a slight squeeze on the front brake shortens the bike up a few mm's and makes the turn arc tighter... No matter how you try to "steer" a bike it is counter steer it way into every turn. Don't know why but it does it. If you go into a turn hard enough and snap a pic (not you snapping the pic but a friend) you will look like your backing it in SM style (not as defined of course)
If you going down the road or straight on the track try to steer the bike as your starting off and you do counter steer all the time except when at a dead stop or near stop starting off.

I figured that was what you meant.
