| Newbie | Loved it. I took it when i was a noob to the track scene and i think it really enforce the right habits. For the price its a great deal. There are other schools just as good but it is a good one..

| Newbie | I've done it three times and have to give Reg the :thumbup I did CLASS as my first track day at Streets of Willow and found it helpful to have pointers and feedback for my first time on the track. A couple years later I went back to SOW and did the Two-Up school with Reg; the single most fun track day I've done (I did 11 in 2004). Late last year I wanted to get in a track day at Laguna Seca before the Moto GP comes along and for $75 more than I would have paid for a regular track day there I got to run with Reg, reinforce the lessons I've already learned, and dice it up with some of his instructors. Reg is a good guy, has a well rehersed and put together program, and is all around fun to run with. I look forward to the next time I can run with a passenger on a track with him. |

| Squid | CLASS rides is a great school. Remember, THIS IS NOT A RACE SCHOOL. It is a skills improvement school. I have done 3 days with Reg and his team. Each time I did, I got just a bit faster. The first time I took the CLASS was my first time on the track. I was VERY excited and I think I missed a lot my first day just cause it took time to get comfortable with being on the track. Reg did a great job making sure ALL the questions are addressed, and they do spend a lot of time with the riders. It is a very good to take and class that you can to improve your skills, but you should really sit down and think about what you want to learn when you go to a school, and then evailuate the class for YOUR needs. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask, I have learned a lot about different schools by asking the questions, and there is a lot out there.. John

| Newbie | My first trackday ever was also at SOW with CLASS and I have to say it was awesome. Since he focuses on skills improvement and not being a 'racers' school it attracts a very level headed crowd that you don't always get with a regular track day. This led to little crashing and very polite passing which means you don't lose time to crash clean-up and don't get stuffed while trying to focus on learning the track and expanding your skills. At the same time the instructors will encourage and help you to ride as fast as you are ready to (trust me, there's no limits placed on you, people just don't crash as much at his days). If you have done track days before and want to learn racing this is not the place to go (even though it's still a damn good time with an awesome organisation). And SOW BTW was a great first track site too with reasonable speeds and very technical layout. Focuses on being smooth and consistant rather than primarily requiring enormous balls like the big track. Is that the track for the day you're planning with CLASS?? What's your background and experience level?? |

I been riding for about 2 years and 6 months ago I turn in my street lights and turn my bike into a track bike. Since than, I try to run track once a month. I been to the track about a hand full of times and I had my first crash about 3 months ago at big willow. Since the crash, I been looking into taking a school and help get my skills better. I am not trying to be a racer (may be one day....) but I would like to learn the proper techniques involved on the track such as good lines, breaking and stuff. With all that said, would you still recommand CLASS or would you recommand somthing else?? Thanks again for all your help.

| Newbie | Yes I would still recommend CLASS but there are some things you should keep in mind. CLASS - California Leading Advanced Safety School is geared towards making people better riders and safer riders on the street. There is a decent amount of the cirriculum dedicated to how to do things safer on the street. If your main focus is track riding you can still benefit from CLASS because there is about the same amount of track time as you get in a regular track day (20min on, 20min off spent in lecture format) and you have the added bonus of having a number of instructors running the track with you at the same time. One difference you will get from this school is the lines that Reg teaches. Rather than using wider lines which people generally associate with riding as fast as you can Reg teaches tighter lines with a "mid track entry" into a corner. Learning this theory on lines was really beneficial to me and has helped me progress in my riding both on and off the track. It's not a race or "track school" but there is a lot to be learned. The price being what it is keeps it pretty high in the bang-for-your-buck rating too. |
