I am looking to do a first track day. The track days at Big Willow on Sept 4 and 5 look good but the registration says you have to be a member to register. How much is the registration? You mention that there it is a three group format but http://www.biketweakers.com says there is no novice group but there is instruction. Guess I will call them. The only real problem I have in getting there is getting there.

I will have to rent a van or truck unless some kind soul has room to haul my bike. I would gladly pay for privilege.

Would this be a good first time track day? When it comes to the whole track day prep and so fourth I am a total noobie.

Well I'm trying to get the ok from the wife to go, it'll be a good bday present for me to be able to do track for the 1st time. Depending on where you live I can give you a lift. And I gotta check to make sure if the training schedule I have from work doesn't block me from going.

OK first off, DO NOT TRUST BIKE TWEAKERS. They are not part of STT, they just post what they THINK they know.

There is a 3 group format, and one of the groups in the Novice school. Great way to get on the track for the first time.

Also, my understanding is that when you sign up for the track, you become a member, but you might want to check with Monty when you call them for it.. I am not really sure how that part works yet.

As for getting there, where are you from?

John

GSXR_Freak, thanks for the info. I am in Canyon Country (SCV).
It sounds like a good event. I will call them and probably, if there aren't any conflicts (none so far), sign up. Getting pretty psyched about it. :deathmetal

If bike tweakers is off the mark...maybe it's a good idea to send them updated info :notooth

Been there done that... Didnt change anything.

This is not the first time they have had a mistake.. But it happens. The riders should really just use it as a guide. Not the end all..

So you sent them a corected callendar, and they refused to fix the problem? Not good if so. I'll try to contact them to see what's up. They are a big help, and yes...most anything is just "A Guide." At least you can click on everything to get right to the source.

:happyb I signed up for the Sept. 4-5 track days at Big Willow. I am in the novice group/school since this will be my first track day. Now the only thing I need is a way to get my bike to the track without riding it. So, if someone has room to haul my bike I will be more than willing to pay for gas, etc. If no one has room I will rent a van/truck and if someone wants to share a van/truck rental just let me know. I plan on reserving a transport vehicle fairly soon so please contact me if you have room or need a ride?

As time nears, let me know. I think I am taking my trailer, so I should have some extra room.
