Glad you're ok.
I don't think it's bent, but I can't push it enough to tell. I was showing the coloration of the metal...it looks like gun-blueing, almost. The rear looks like the fronts normally do...nice and shiny chrome colored metal (I am heavy with the front brakes, and with me in gear on the bike, I'm asking them to slow well over 700 pounds :spit )
It does look blue.
Just from normal braking heat you think? Could they be dragging?
Mine have some discoloration but it's more the standard dark grey variety.
I've never seen a rotor do that before - even on a car and those are being asked to stop more than 700lbs.
700? Jesus. How much does that bike weigh? That's Busa territory. ;]

As I previously mentioned his brakes are glazed bad, like blue to bronze-ish and they feel like glass, and James it rolled fine loading and unloading it last night. maybe a little pad rub but that seemed normal. You are completely correct that thing is a tank 700lbs :yikes

It is 471lbs dry. A Busa is only 9lbs heavier, and a GSXR1000 is about 105lbs lighter. Plus my 180lbs, plus fluids, plus my gear comes to just over 700 :yikes

And the brakes weren't dragging, I was just riding it hard. New Glafer green pads, 5.1 Motul and Galfer lines on stock rotors, which were nice shiny chrome-color when I got on the track.

So I went out to the garage today to get something. I ended up doing a little bodywork, modifying what was left of the fairing, and painting the bike (which I had just been talking to Charles about doing, anyway 2 days before I crashed lol).

Don't look too close...I despise sanding, especially by hand. I just wanted it to look BASICALLY one color. I didn't do the tank yet, as I didn't want to paint over the dent, and didn't feel like pulling it or filling it with that much bondo.

Total cost: Had 2 cans of primer and one can of Black gloss in the garage already, as well as 2 sheets of sandpaper. Wasted 2 hours or so doing it. I'm not spending anything else on this bike, so I can put it towards a new one, I just did it to see what it'd look like, and was bored.

Wasn't much to use of the old fairing without doing more repairs than I cared to do on it. I know it looks pretty whitetrash, but I was just playing with it a little, and I'm just gonna part it out on ebay once I get a new one in the next month or so.
