Default Incentive for crashing

Incentive for crashers with new NESBA program :pat

http://roadracingworld.com/news/article/?article=24796

Wouldn't it be better to give some kind of incentive for "Not" crashing? :dunno :headscratch

Huh. Interesting concept. I do think this is a rather controversial topic.

I think it is really nice to try to help out someone that crashes, but this strikes me as kind of odd. I dunno. :headscratch

hmm...very interesting.

My only thought is that those organizing the trackdays are riders themselves, they know what it is like the crash and how unfortunate it is to lose out on some tracktime, maybe a whole trackday ($$$)...and then on top of that be faced with costs to repair the bike and get out a ride again. I think it is a good policy, nobody trys to crash...some people push things too hard and over their heads...but overall i think that it is in the best benefit of the organization and keeps the riders coming back to ride with them after a crash without too much of a financial burden.

I actually like this idea. It doesn't encourage crashing. Enough people do that anyways.

They should also sell track day insurance in case you can't make the track day for some reason or the weather makes the most of the track day unrideable.

If people know they can get their $ back if they crash, they will care less. The incentive should be geared to people that don't crash to help promote safety for everyone. I'd personally rather ride with an org that works to have crash-free days. I bet NESBA will repeal that deal after awhile.

I don't think anyone takes the lost track day fees into consideration. I know I do not think, Oh, I will lose out on $100 if I crash. I think "Crashing will cost me thousands in repairs, and not to mention pain" I also think it is rough when you have signed up for two day events and crash on day one, then lose your money for day two. What if the crash wasn't even your fault? Hell even if it was your fault, crashes happen. I think it is cool that they are atleast refunding the money for the track time you didn't use.

Sometimes stuff does indeed "Happen" but I'd rather ride with a bunch of people that have a great record for "Not" crashing at trackdays. In my opinion too many people push too hard often because they don't get to the track much & think they must get the most out of the day & end up way over their head then crash. If the incentives were geared towards "Not" crashing I believe everyone would benefit.

BTW.....I haven't rec'd your "Trackday Story & Pics" yet for the Free Trackday drawing & posting. Details on the portal page. :wave
