Been there Mike, ride it you'll know why its an AMA and most of the others are not. Its a very challanging track and your more likely to see AMA racers on the track I think. People sell Fontana short but I think from my experience on that track most are miss-guided. It is a very fun track from very tight turns which are far more forgiving then any of the other 3 tracks I've ridden. Thats the parking lot effect I'm sure your talking about but from a new riders stand point would you rather run off into gravel and rocks and **** (guaranteed damage) or run off into more "Parking Lot" as you call it (no harm no foul). It has only one straightaway of any significance the front straight and its so fun to run up against the wall at 165+. Its a banked straight and its more fun than Big Willow's straight cause of the banking. Its more work than any track I've been at. The Track facilities are better than any track I've seen plenty of inside paddock's with electricity hook ups for tire warmers and such. Not to mention they have bathrooms with running water and they don't have to stop the track to let vendors in the infield. The track is run by people far more professional than any of the other tracks I've been at yea its only 4 different tracks but still they had all their stuff together. Nothing missed and the track ran all day with out any stoppage. All in all Fontana is worth the money IMO what you spend more in track fee is made up in gas and other expenses so the cost argument is mute. JMO

Ray
All tracks have their good & bad points Ray, and that's all a matter of opinion also because some people like it smooth, some like it rough, some like blind corners, some people love a long straight, some people like myself like blind decreasing radious corners, bumps, & jumps, and Off camber turns. If I was riding a Bus, I'd probably like Cali Speedway too :laughing ......The whole AMA thing is very political my friend. Willow Springs was on the AMA list until Penske built Fontana & put huge amounts of $$ into it. What I mean by parking lot is that there are no elevation changes, and not much of the other stuff I mentioned. Fontana isn't as fast as Daytona, but real similar, and unless you've had your head burried in the sand for awhile, you know the AMA riders don't like it as well as other tracks. Go ahead and pay top dollar for a parking lot ride bro..........I'll just continue to drive right past it on my way to the other tracks that suit my fancy.

PS; Wasn't it Fontana where a racer was killed when a guy crashed on one part of the track that sent the bike flying into him? Stuff happens, but I've not heard of that at any of the other venues.

I'm tossed up between Big Willow and Fontana. I do love the 3-4a4b combo of Willow but I loved the front straights and the horseshoe turn at Fontana I would do either in heatbeat.
You sure like to pump up Fontucky. "Full blown AMA," hahaha.....you're killing me Ray.

Fontana is down at the bottom of the list under "Other." :biglaugh

Relax Ray, you want to discuss, then let's discuss. That's all I'm doing. Does it hurt you that "Fontana" isn't on the list directly or something? It can be added if it'll calm you down. :spit

Laguna! Although I reserve the right to change that opinion after I do Pahrump.

Oh and where's the option for Palormar International Raceway? :funflip

Laguna Seca

You really have to ride it to understand. It's a world class track. I've heard Infineon is supposed to be bad ass too but have yet to get there on a bike.

One question for ya -

Where is the only stop in the US for MotoGP this year?

Laguna Seca
