Thumbs down Dave Moss - CRS - Stolen Trailer

If you ride tracks in California, you've probably seen Dave Moss of Catalyst Racing Suspension. He's a helluva nice guy and some ****er(s) stole his work trailer - the one with all of his tools and goodies. Please keep an eye out for this:

Wells Cargo 2001 17x7 tanden axle in white. No decals. Rusty grey wheels.

Contents - everyone knows that. And I do mean everything.

Serial # 1WCc200g2424045151

License 4GJ4165

Default Message from Dave

All,

First of all thanks to everyone for all their support. The trailer was found very late this afternoon and processed for finger prints etc. The Police were incredibly supportive and on it all day long, calling me frequently so I want to say a very public thank you to motorcycle officer Rob Schneider of San Anselmo PD who went above and beyond all day today. Therre are some partial prints but odds on those are mine.

I will be meeting with an Allstate insurance adjuster at some point tomorrow and find out whether anything is covered. I had insurance for the trailer and had taken out renters insurance for the contents. I have no idea what they will say and will post again tomorrow evening with an update.

I got the trailer back tonight (found about 2 miles from San Anselmo) and it was stripped bare. I know that getting all the hand tools, electric drills, tool chests and all of those types of belongings back is almost a no hope situation, so I will be focussing on the following by scanning Craigslist, eBay and any other list members recommend. If anyone sees anything please let me know:

2001 Yamaha Vino 50cc scooter in brown and cream (have to get the VIN yet), but it was bought under a mechanics lein from Bay Area Yamaha. The right side of the scooter is rashed - side cover, floorboard, chrome trim and front fender. That should be an easy spot.

I lost 2 sets of Helimot leathers. First, my new set that was worn for the THill picture this summer in blue and yellow with chrome shoulders and MOSS in chrome and black on the lower back. CRSTuning is on one leg and CALMOTO is on the other.
Second, a blue and white set with white "MOSS" across the shoulders. These have been worn and were recently crashed in at Sears when the 675 bled out oil onto the rear tire laying me down in turn 3a on my left side. I also lost a set of Gericke Factory Yamaha leathers in blue and black with chrome letters.
Other gear lost includes 2 sets of Oxstar boots size 46, new A&G sliders, two Helimot back protectors (one turtle and one for the new hump suit). One pair of black Yamaha race gloves (L) and one brand new set of Held race gloves (size 8.5).

2 Honda E2000i inverter generators. One is new/unused the other has been reconditioned and has a very rough exterior but nothing is broken. I am trying to get serial numbers for them.

The main tool box was a black Kobalt 2 piece 18 drawer professional unit, standing almost 5' 5" tall to the upper lid. I cannot recall everything in there, but it several years of tool collecting. The "daily "tool box was red in color. It had retracting scissor style legs which allowed it to stay at ground level or be raised to 3' 6" tall. The handle was black and has a pole in the center to use as an arm to pull the tool box behind you. It has a Triumph decal on the lid and my CRST business card secured inside the lid.

Two canopies were lost. One was a 10' x 20' Caravan lightweight aluminum with a brand new sky blue lightweight canopy cover. The second was a 10' x 10' EZUP with a 'Yamaha' canopy cover that has seen better days.

There were two sets of Pit Bull stands. The front stands could hold the lower triple tree portion. The rear stands were reversible for swing arm spools and had the rubber mounted solid rods for the under the swing arm. There was a single sided swing arm stand and a Ducati lower triple tree arm with clasps. There was a red front stand with a Kyle engineering decal on it. This stand required the legs to be secured by bolts to the upper and lower leg that form a triangle.

There was a GP Suspension shock spring compressor, using a bottle jack to hold the upper shock mount and various spring clamps to retain the spring on an upper plate secured to the lower plate by 4 rods.

There were 30 or more tie downs of various kinds, 2 of which were unusual in that they were used as handlebar tie downs (have a hasp above the tank to tighten the slack between the bars - don't know the brand name as they were a gift). There were three canyon dancers with my name on them.

That's all for now. I will be scanning to see if aything comes out for sale, and again thank you all for your support! I am blessed with a great many caring friends, and that is very humbling, supportive and inspiring.

Dave

Just spoke to Dave via Phone, let's keep a CLOSE eye on everywhere that bike stuff that's stolen may get sold.

Craig's list, ebay, etc etc.

Suspension is what he does and his trailer holds what he does. He is super passionate about helping people and is the best to work with. He needs us to find his stuff for him right away. I will be online today looking, please do the same as soon as you can.

Good to know he at least got the trailer back. Hope his insurance will cover most of the contents.

Gees Dave, I am really sorry to hear this story. I will be at Laguna next week and if you need any hand tools, p.m. me. I, along with many others, (I am sure), will be glad to help untill you re-stock.
