Default Fastrack Riders Timing and Scoring System - Coming Soon

From an e-mail that I received from Dana Webb at Fastrack Riders:

Quote:
Fastrack Riders is pleased and excited to announce the purchase of a full AMB Timing and Scoring System to improve the safety and enjoyment of all Fastrack events. The goal is to be fully operational with the system by the end of April 2007 as there are major logistics in managing all aspects of the system that need to be tested before going fully operational. What does this mean? Every rider at a Fastrack Riders event will get have an AMB transponder attached to their motorcycle. Lap times for each group will be available at the top of the hour every hour and riders can go home and log onto Fastrack Riders and download their lap times for the day. Additionally it improves the safety of an event because right away it can be determined if a rider is too fast or too slow for a group. This is a huge step forward in the track day industry!

That's a great idea...good way to determine if people are running the wrong group. Bet it puts more riders in the Race group.

I bet it also drives up the already high Fontana prices.

They should be able to run the transponders for FREE for the cash they've been making. I know track rental at Cali Speedway isn't cheap, but $250 is pretty pricey for a trackday when you factor in tires, gas, transportation and food. To each his own...I don't mind making the drive to Buttonwillow or Big Willow.

I agree that fontana is more expensive compared to making a trip out to willowspings or buttonwillow. The benifit thing about fontana is that it close enough to drive home that evening. Going way up north for a cheaper trackday will only work if you do not have to get a hotel room, combine the extra milage + lodging will put you about on par with fontana.

Just a thought.

I've been pretty tired before, but I HAVE driven to Willow at 5am, hit tech at 8:30, been on the way home at 5pm and on the couch by 9. A Willow trackday with Trackdaz is $130, and Fastrack at Cali Speedway is $245. Saves me almost $70 to drive the rest of the way to Willow.

Hopefully the Pala track coming in the next few years will be awesome, and keep us ALL local.
