Yes, I agree with you about blaming tired, but with that said, some tires definately give more feedback than others.... I don't blame my tires for my crash since I really don't know what caused it, but I went from knee down, to... elbow, foot, face.... without a single hint of anything up until that point...

My experience with racers edge is that they are pretty pricy. I'm currently trying to score a deal with Bridgestone. Anybody have experiences with their race tires?

I just read a 32 page tire shootout with the most popular tires (7-8 different tires/+/-5 brands)...bridgestone came in dead last...Corsa III's in 1st

Check this out....it's actually a link where you can view the online magazine 32 page article...Zino...pretty sweet...it's a good read and a freakin' thourough test.

I hate tire shootouts. They used the Bridgestone 002 street/track tire, not the 002 Pro (dot race), but they throw in a set of medium Michelin pilot race tires as well as the 2ct's. Not really fair.

That being said, I have run Corsa 3's (with joy) for the last 2 track days and I ran a set of Bridgestone 002 Pro's this Saturday at Fontucky (soft front/med rear) and the stones were faaaaarrrr better than the Corsa 3's in every way. They were similar in feel, but the stones had way more grip.

As for Michelin, I must quote Team America. Those filthy frogs can, "lick my arse, and suck on my balls." My cash doesn't go to France.

Did you buy your pic or are they online already - from Fontucky?

Ya...I like the shootout thing...I have only really used a few different tires and only have about 30K miles of street riding under my belt so I'm not the best judge of what tire is good or not. This guide, for me, is a good thing. I liked the Corsa III's I used today...but they didn't feel "grippy" like the Pilot race medium's I had on the bike before. But I need a trackday tire that lasts a long time on the street too...that's what I'm hoping for out of the Corsa III.

I bought my pics at the track. I have used the following road tires on the street and track days, and rate them as such:
1. Corsa 3's
2. Dunlop Qualifiers
3. Pilot Powers

I havn't used the Bridgestone 002 S/T, but have heard that the front tire is outstanding, but the rear tends to spin up easily. So maybe it is good for 600cc, but not for 750/1000cc bikes. Maybe some work needs to be done with rear pressures too, don't know.

All I know is that the 002 Pros have way more grip than anything I have ever ridden, and it was windy and dusty as crap Saturday. I'm gonna stick with the stones for a while. The price is good too.

I've been running Dunlop D209GP's for awhile now and I found them to be far superior to the Michelins as far as getting a feel for when they go away. The Power Race PR2/PR5 (I haven't run the PRC) literally went away so quickly on me it was scary. I went from full grip to nearly dumping the bike in a single lap.

I wonder if that's due to us (non-sponsored non-pro types) not using the tires as designed (one use) and putting multiple heat cycles on them?
