| Know It All | I'd say that your folks are being quite insensitive. I would NEVER miss my daughters' graduation. You EARNED that little stroll. Does it mean much? Probably not. Will you regret letting your emotions dictate your actions? Certainly. Do the walk. Revel in it. You deserve to enjoy it with friends. Shoot, if you rode, I might even attend! :biglaugh Maybe we'll have a "Graduation Beach Party". We won't invite your folks though... :thumbup (Unless your mom is hot!) :yikes Once the weather warms up, we should have a bikenight at the beach. Hmmm....

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (10) | How I ended up there was fate because I was too stupid to get accepted to any of the colleges I wanted to go to. I was going to go to Long Beach, but didnt get housing. So I went to SDSU without ever seeing the campus or knowing anything about it because I didnt want to put college on hold. I almost went home after the first semester because my roommate ended up being the fake "oh hi christine how are you?" continue with blank stare, cant remember what she said 5 mins later (oh but she was in legally blonde :insert airhead laugh). I had made literally ONE friend at the time, and she hated the place too. we used to sit around and hate the school together. She took a leave of absence, went to chicago, whereas I stuck it out. Luckily I did because lo-and-behold I got to know Ickysticky and Deno whom I had met first semester in my oral comm class. My life would have been totally different if I had gone home. However that doesnt change the fact that I find the majority of my school 1. vapid and 2. shallow. However if I hadnt have gone here, I would probably not be getting a degree in Accounting (which rocks). that all sounded really bitter but i'm really not bitter, just rather umm realistly blunt about it all

| Newbie | I did UCSD as fast as possible to get out and away from the opposite of that.. on another note.. you should totally walk; just like one of those life experience thingies that really only comes around once. I walked twice actually, UCSD is weird and has undergrad college *not* organized by major. So i walked with one college where the majority of my engineering friends came from, and walked in my own college's one, well, just because my family could all make it and such. I'm surprised by the experience SDSU--UCSD everyone was a fricking bio-something premed'er confined to their rooms after 4pm. Completely dead campus. Now the USD chicks that would wonder on campus... wow :yikes |

| Newbie | SDSU is a great college Brit! Regardless of if your parents wont go you should still walk. I'm sure some of the riders in SD that you ride with would go. Dont do it for other people do it for yourself. It's your last and final steps on that campus (hopefully :laughing ) Enjoy it with your fellow students!

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 5 (10) | If you decide to walk or not... it should be all about you. If you want to walk, then do it. If you really don't care to walk, then don't. If you do walk I'm sure a bunch of us will be there to cheer you on. :thumbup |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 6 (56) | I definitely agree with everyone who says it's your decision to make. You're the one who earned that degree. I walked and was glad I did. It's kind of the cherry on top of the sundae or the one at the bottom of a Mai Tai. Since that day is really all about you graduating with that accounting degree, why not plan a party (or ride) for all your friends to join you in celebration. Let me tell you, walking was cool, but the party afterwards (when the parents left) well that was a blast. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! :clapping |

| Spammer | If its not important to you and nobody important demands that you do it, screw it. I hated my high school and not like we had a choice but it was different cuz all of your friends are there with you. Its not the same with college for most. If you do end up doing it cuz someone really wants you to or rather more then 1 person wants you to then do it and get it over with. At this point it doesnt seem like your parents or anyone else for that matter, would be terribly upset if you didnt.

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (10) | spy- apparently right now SDSU is in the top 3 for most beautiful women and UCSD is in the top 3 for most beautiful men. go figure. my roommates heard that and they all said "I havent seen any..." earl- i went to a competitive high school that started at 7th grade. the school itself totaled 600 students: 100 per grade. once you got evaluated in 7th grade you had to fight like a madman to get placed anywhere else. I got nothing less than an A in all my math classes starting in 9th grade but they refused to move me to honors. I set the curve for the honors physics class my senior year as a CP student. Not tooting my own horn or anything because I'm not the smartest, but I am at least comparable to those I went to school with. I hated it because if I had gone to Newbury Park High I would have had a 4.0 at least instead of a 3.28 and that was what was holding me back in my applications. oh and that religion class each year took a lot of time out of your life for studying for other subjects that the colleges actually looked at. it's great when your a junior and surprise surprise you find out that religion class gets thrown out of your GPA for college purposes. isnt the GPA's sole purpose for college? anyway so while I can recite almost all the books of the bible in order, it really didnt help me much at SDSU gah i dont know!!!!
