Default Went to look at a new _ _ _ _ today.....

Went to the local Ford dealer today to see how much the new Excursions are going for. I thought they would be throwing them at me for real cheap since the gas prices are so high in Cali, but no way....the stcker for a fully loaded Eddy Bauer 4x4 Excursion was over $52k!!! No way could I make that kind of payment, nor would I even think about it....maybe if I was getting top $ for my Lariat supercrew 4x4, and they were gonna knock off about $15k on the new one, but they only wanted to take off about $5-6k and ream me on my truck! Stinking nuts if you asked me!

So here's my dilemma....My family has outgrown our truck now that we are fulltime 7-deep (not mormons either, lol), and we need a larger cage. We thought about an Astro van like ZMoe bought recently, but after filling it up with people, there's not much room for all our stuff for long trips. We could add a top carrier, but that seems like it would be a PITA :dunno :headscratch .

We could go with a 12 passenger Ford van...still need to look at them, but I like the seating of the Excursion better for long trips.

We could get a used Excursion, or Suburban I guess, but run the risc of getting a money pit.

Any idea's?

SPEED.

I get a GM Employee discount, and my immediate family (father/mother/sister/brother) no cousins, aunts or uncles...
the best I can tell you is if you buy from my dealership, I'll give you the $50 they give me for referring you, I know it's not much ... other than that, do what I do when I buy stuff like bikes and cars, is to know the retail price and shop around find the lowest price and see if they will beat the lowest price that's you've found. keep in mind dealers want to sell you a vehicle, and will play Monte Hall / lets make a deal with you. maybe see if they'll match a low price and tell them to throw in a tow hitch & harness or you like the polished rims on this other Yukon XL can you throw those in to seal the deal ?

the Yukon XL is the GMC version of the Chevy Suburban, it is Exactly the same vehicle, except the front grille looks different.

Like I said at the Ford dealer I like the GMs more. I was playing on there website. Suburan LT 2 wheel dribe with a 6.0 325 hp v8 for 40. GM has been offering rebates that will come from the factory on top of any dealer discount for can get them to give. :thumbup
