Grrr...Private Enterprise Over Private Citizens

I know it's a little on the political side, but this could theoretically affect any of us (or the tracks we ride). According the article, the Supreme Court just rules that the government has the right to use eminent domain to take property from one private citizen/company and give it to another in the interest of "commercial development for the good of the community." What kind of bull is that? My fear is this; the homeowners of Laguna Seca decide that the racetrack is not in the interest of the community and push measures through the local government (the ruling was for the power of cities) to have the race track land confiscated and turned into strip malls to "better serve" the community.

First the city will give notice to the business of "NON-COMPLIANCE." Then the City will "rezone" the business area. Then the city will "kick-out" the businesses there. This is what happened to Riverside Intl Raceway. It is now a stripmall. It is what happened to MY business in Oceanside. I now have my biz (and home) in Carlsbad. I got tired of being burglerized on a regular basis, anyway. I also had arson-twice. OCEANSIDE-what a great place (to be FROM!) :funflip

I keep telling people we live in a facist resigm run by money(cleverly disguised by the terms Capitalistic Republic) but nooo no one wants to listen to the slow guy.

My buddy AJ put a new bumper sticker on the back of his BMW GS1100 adventure it reads "I Miss Freedom" I think I'm getting a stack to put on all my vehichles!
