iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (10) | To all who know what they are talking about: I am considering buying a hand gun for home defense and because I have always wanted one. I have been looking at some and so far I like the: Glock 21SF .45 ACP H&K HK45 .45 ACP S&W M&P45 .45 ACP (w/ thumb safety) Beretta PX4 .45ACP I see price differences in all these guns BUT what is the real difference? Which one of these is the best? Who ties up? ![]()

iTrader: (1) Rep Power: 6 (47) | It looks as though all the guns you are looking at are all .45 caliber. I do not know much about the ones you have mentioned, but I can tell you that if you are looking for a good pistol for a reasonable price, check into a Rock Island Armory (could also be found under Armscor; still same company). I have one and it is the tactical version with the dual sided thumb safety, beaver tail hammer, skeleton trigger, etc... and I use it for competition; it works great. I have had some people who have $2k pistols ask me where and how much I got mine for because they want one after seeing mine. I paid $425 shipped to my FFL. Do a search and see what you find out. I know if you are on a budget and want a decent pistol with stopping power, the one I have works pretty damn well. Just my $.02 though.

| Squid | I have shot the HK45 several times and everytime I go back to the range I always ask for that one instead of firing a different gun. Shot the Springfield XD .45 ACP once and it was comfy and shot well. But I went back to the HK. As to owning one...yeah not yet, but maybe in the future.

| Spammer | If your considering a pistol for home defense, remember this, if you miss the stray bullet will go through walls with no problems. Which means you might be in some trouble as a result. I have a glock 22 40cal. and love it but am considering a shotgun for home defense, pellets won't travel as far. Last edited by fcjerk : 06-26-2008 at 04:29 PM. Reason: misspelled |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (10) | Hmmm a shotgun. That sound like a neat idea. Then I could buy that new 12 guage taser round. Or the rubber slug. I like those Benelli's. They have a civilian legal M4 JSCS (M-1014).
