iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | ...and by "good customer service" I mean only one thing: I don't wanna hear Indian accent on the other end of the line. See? I'm not picky at all. I refuse to do any business with companies that transfer American jobs offshore and particularly to India. I believe there are (perhaps few) left who's not doing this. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | Here's how it went for me. I pay my credit cards in full every month and last month I forgot about one of them. Next thing I know (I mean my wife since they called my home number) is people with a very distinctive accent calling me on behalf of that bank. I did resolve the issue (paid the bill), but the whole incident got me thinking. I understand it's the battle with windmills, but maybe some customer service manager (a dignified American of course) would pay attention to my case: losing a long-term customer over the Indian accent. Oh, here's how the conversation went: (unmistakable long delay) "Good morning, Sir, how are you?" "Are you calling from India?" silence "I asked you: Are you calling from India?" "Yes" "I will not talk to you. Get me some American on the line" (silence) "But Sir..." I hang up. 5 minutes after that I get another call. That time it's normal English. It may not seem like a big deal to you ...Oh, and another disclaimer: I don't give a f_ck how racist it sounds... But I listen to Hindi (they don't even bother to use English on American soil) 8-10 hours a day at work as 200 or so of them (minimum-pay illegal L-1 visa workers) surround me at work, and that's only the tip of the iceberg. They simply relay work to 500-600 $5/hr monkeys in India. So having seen the extent of it I'm a little sensitive when I hear that accent. Not to mention they literally cost me about $40K a year 9at the very least), so yes, I'm very biased. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | LOL. It IS Chase though the caller ID displays "Bank One". I also have Citi though haven't yet had the "pleasure" of talking to some "John" or "Bob" from across 12 time zones. ![]() What about BofA? Wachovia also has credit cards, doesn't it? What else is out there: Visa or Mastercard? I already have AmEx. |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (28) | Have you tried a credit union?? I don't do any extensive banking transactions, but I have never spoken to anyone that didn't "sound" American. University and State Employees Credit Union. I have seen ads for them lately so I don't think it's limited anymore. USE Credit Union :: Home ![]()

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 0 (10) | I agree that Chase is great but definitely would also recommend a credit union.
