| Canyon Carver | So there I am, sitting ALONE in this dark HOT DRY BOX my owner calls a garage of all things waiting to be ridden. I am one sexy beast I am, 1300 cc's, black and silver with fine metal flake running through my paint. I am new, only 8500 miles on the clock this AM. Fresh as the day is young, its 6 AM. And I am alone. Well guess not "alone", he's got others pen'ed up in here too. Got some dirt bike thing that is always dirty and smells bad, got some chiche' little sexy thing in the corner all hard bodied out, something he us tosses in the back of and takes us to strange and far away places and then there is the ugly duckling DR thing that just sits around laughing at it all. Nice, real nice DR. Anyways, he is in there with his girlfriend, laughing and carrying on in the aircondition while I sit out here with 6.6 gallons of premium gas, fresh Yamalube and, something new in my saddle bags. NO ladies, I not refering to my oversized dimpled up hips. I am wondering what he is going to do with me this weekend, always something. Two of them come out here like they own me or something. He touches me in ways he only does when SHE is getting on, the b*tch. Steals him away from me during the weekend and even has the nerve to come around on the weekdays too. I am telling you! So, he is comes out here, flips a switch that stiffens the suspension and puts down some little flapper things so SHE can have a place to rest her feet. WHA, hold them up! Wonder where we are going today I ask myself? The beach again? Wonderful place. Nice curvy roads, good scenery, cool air for my intakes, sweet. Oh, OH maybe just maybe we will got that place Newcombs again. Haven't been there in awhile. Nice up there in Angel's crest. Twisty roads with good pavement, cool again and some good company once we get to Newcombs. Just hope he doesn't do those same old roads like Bouquet, Spunky and the like. Talk about BORING! He thinks he controls me through those roads. Truth is, I do all the work. Know 'em like the back of my saddlebags. Maybe, just maybe they will take me Kernville again. Don't think they will do that though. Over heard them talking about the Piute Fires and stuff. UGH, not good for my intakes. Okay, okay, they are FINALLY loaded up and ready to head out. So here we go. Hmmm, taking the left on Rosamond Blvd, samo-samo, hmmm interesting we are going NORTH on the 14, right at Mojave, oh oh oh, we are going to kernville via the 178. SWEET...... Up over Walker Pass, down through Onyx, right at Weldon and the backside of Lake Isabella, man I love this road. Okay we are stopping in Kernville, getting more gas, nice. Love this Shell brand, good stuff. Not as nice as the Chevron but, what can ya do? Okay, they are loading up again. Aw man sweeter, we are going up the North Fork of the Kern. Dang there are a lot of ijuts out today on this country road. HEY YO Mr & MRS Deer how about you stay out of the road? Nice, thank you for waiting. Noticed the river is down since the last time being up here 4 months ago. Okay we go, climbing elevation and hittin some twisties. Okay, we are at Johnsondale. Last time here we made right cause the road was closed to the left. We are going left, oh this is new. Why is he stopping? OH SHE NEEDS TO TAKE PICTURES. I got 40 miles of twisties in front of me and she wants to stop to take pictures... that is one selfish b*tch I am tellin ya.... GF and I took the FJR on a day trip over the weekend. Went to the Sequoia Nat'l Forest for the day and checked out the 100 giants. Could not ask for a better day. It was a clear day, temps in the 80's no wind up there and it was just awesome. We didn't BLAST through the forest or up the Kern. We took our time and stopped to see the sites. Got the FJR off road too but in a good way. Took her down some of the dirt paths to get to DOME ROCK and the like. Nothing hairy but will say this, if you ever go up there, dual sports will be the way to do it. Truck 'em up, park at the entrance and hit it. Take a good map or GPS with you cause you will need it. The haze you see in the pics is not smog, its smoke from the fires. We came out the back side of the forest in hopes of hooking up with another nice and twisty road. That didn't happen cause the road was actually gravel. SO, rolled the FJR around and headed up. Over all fantastic time. 300 miles, 1 & 1/2 tanks of gas 9 gallons, and memories for a life time. The trees are awe inspiring the shear size just makes you feel insignificant. The views of the western divide weren't too bad either. Enjoy

| Canyon Carver | The SPORT tourer just plain rocks the planet. Don't get me wrong the R1 has its purpose. This FJR, IMO, is just the most awesome thing since sliced bread. We had this thing so far over in a decreasing radius turn on this ride the GF almost scraped her knee. Though I don't do that low a turn all the time, nice to know it can do it. Comfort, speed, power and, handling just are awesome... These pics are nothing in two weeks we are doing this loop.... from:Rosamond, ca to:US-395 N @35.879617, -117.888046 to:US-395 S @35.858140, -117.876730 to:Sherman Pass, ca to:Caliente Bodfish Rd @35.335960, -118.575330 to:Bakersfield Tehachapi Hwy/CA-58 E @35.254929, -118.608052 to:34.865651,-118.273315 to:US-3 Now this will bring back some awesome pics. Happy riding people. Keep it safe.

Sport tourers are the bomb. There will be more write ups to lure people over to the darkside.

Yeah and our insurance rates go UP. Just an all around awesome machine. Here is the article mofo is reffering too: 2008 Super Sport-Touring Comparo - MotorcycleUSA.com They compared an 07 FJR to the 08 models of other manufacturers. There were many improvements on the 08 that make it just that much better.
