This was posted on another site. What puts me in awe is that from what I've been told, not every bullet loaded is a tracer (the glowing ones) so what you can see is only a fraction of the lead spouting from those cannons. All I have to say is hell yeah for technical superiority.

I guess it depends on who loads it. :biglaugh I'd love to see the output of a gun with a tracer belt loaded.

If every round loaded where a tracer it's just be one soild line from bbl to ground and i belive it would blow up since if memory's serves correctly it's phosphorus or magnisium......

Tracer:Ball ratio is normally 1:4.

That "glow" is actually caused by incindiary materials in the base of the round that burns while in flight. These incindiary materials in US/NATO rounds are composed of magnesium perchlorate and strontium salts giving it that red "glow". The Chinese and Russian ones use Boron or Copper salts instead of Strontium resulting in a green glow (the ones in the clip are not Russian/Chinese but a result of night-vision camera effect). Tracers come in 3 levels of brightness. "Bright" for daytime, "subdued" for night time, and "dim" for units using night-vision equipment.
