San Diego checking in

Hey everyone, I just became a new owner of a 2005 Honda Repsol CBR1000RR. I found out about this site from the 1000rr.net site so I figured I'd come over and check it out. My first bike was a 1998 Honda VTR1000 Superhawk and I just sold it recently and got the 05 CBR. I love the power of the CBR and it feels alot more smooth and solid than the old superchicken, although I do miss the ole v-twin.

Anyways, I am looking to do some track day events for beginners so if there is anyone from San Diego area that hits the tracks hit me up. Looks like I just missed a great event last weekend at Button Willow, hopefully there will be more of those. I'm getting new tires this week so I'll be ready to go.

to the site. I'm no track expert, but I can't believe there are better run events than SBW's! (especially for beginner's like me)
There's a local ride this Sunday too.

Welcome! Lots of us here on the board are in SD and do quite a few trackdays. Just keep your eyes open for trackday threads.

Gix1k, yeah that's my bike at Buymoto, I love that shop, they always have the best deals around. Just got some new rubbers, Corsa 3's put on. Was that your Gixer out front of the shop today? Seen the damage on it and heard about it.
