Default hello, new here + a question!

hi all, heard about this place from SCS. also...

my (supposedly) waterproof gloves have a tendency to soak through when i ride in the rain. i used to let it just air dry, but this time, they have this foul, nasty mildewy smell in them. what do you rain riders out there do about this?

I ignore it no body smells me when i ride....but i do have three pairs of gloves...one i wear when it looks like a chance of foul weather....you could try some saddle soap or a leather conditioner like from wilson leather or boot barn or sheplers and see if that worked.....

oh yeah :greenflip :funflip :welcome

I had some old hand me down gloves when i first started riding and they smelled like that. had no other choice but to wear 'em. i used soap and water and even alcohol to rid the smell... man that thing stunk so pad! smells like 10 year old rental boxing gloves!

What i do now is before every ride i wash my hands with soap. when ever i take 'em off i make sure i wipe my hands before putting them back in. I'm really anal about that now. I dont let other people try to shove their hands in my gloves either.

:welcome

Who's dumb enough to wear gloves when they ride? I can't feel my controls at all if I wear gloves. I have found that the medical latex gloves work great both for protection and the rain.

:lmao

when the rains first came a while back I threw a set of gloves in the corner. when I remembered them some time later, they had a nice extra fuzzy layer to them not to mention the road kill smell. So I sprayed them with lysol, soaked them in simple green, then in woolite. Then put some leather conditioner on them. They are cleaner than they have been in a long time :thumbup
