Default motorcycle service shops in or near San Diego

I need to inspect, and possibly R/R the ECT(electronic coolant temp.) thermosensor on a 1998 VFR800FI. does anyone know of any hosest shops out there? i have read wayyy too many horror stories about shops destroying bikes because of not bolting things back up properly, or stunting customers bikes on the freeway and getting ticketed/impounded, or even overcharging for a part and then putting the old part back on the bike, to take it to just any shop. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I second taking your bike to Scott's Motorcycle Service. He just put my bike back together after a friend crashed it, and he went above and beyond. My bike was emmaculate when I got it back. And, yes, he gives you great rates.

Following the same line....does anybody know of a honest shop in LA, south bay area (LAX). I've been taking my bike since the day I bought to same shop to do the routine services. This week I have a friend from Chile spending some vacation time here and he happens to be a motorcycle mechanic, and a good one at that, so he decided to do suspension oil change, install new wave rotors and replace the clutch plates and basket since I've been noticing it's hard to get it going from first gear, like the plates are stuck together for a while before they split ( he noticed that too when he took it for a ride). This is where the story gets interesting, but some important facts first, I'd taken the bike to the shop to have some maintenance done, oil change, chain and sprockets installed, steering damper installed, and some minor service before going to streets of willow, then i had to take it again 'cause the warning light and the FI logo came on, they said it was an air sensor and the ECGV (?) that were malfunctioning, and last they replaced the steering stem bearings because of a recall I never did. When my friend started to work on my bike, he noticed the front axle nut was loose :yikes , the oil had not been changed :thumbdown , there was a loose hose under the gas tank probably related to the air box :wtf and who knows what else, so I've been paying my hard earned money, providing my oil (Motul 300V 15-50W), and these guys at the shop didn't even bother to change the oil???. Most probable, they did but used a cheaper or low quality one, and kept the Motul for themselves. I thought this only happened in my country, but I guess not. Moral of the story, do not trust anybody but yourself and your good friends, when it comes to take care of your bike.
