Default quick stand

So the other day I was trying to tell Spaceboy and DJLife about this gadget that works like a stand and you can carry with you on your bike toolkit....
I haven't tried it but I heard good things about it so I would like to get one at some point. If anyone owns one or knows more, comments are welcome.

quick stand

Well, I don't know. I guess it depends on how crappy is the material it is made of... also I wouldn't use it for long periods of time, but for chain-lubing (mainly) and other quick stuff maybe it would help those of us who don't have regular stands :dunno

I was actually thinking of the whole process, of rocking the bike back and fourth and lifting while shoving the quick stand, closer to the bike to get it up... looking closely at the bottom of the quickstand, I didnt see any kind of rubber boot or anything of that sort, just looked like metal, which would make me think it could slip? idk, it probly works just fine.

Looks a little unstable to me, but who knows? Personally I would just pick up a cheap motoboss or lp rear stand and some spools. :dunno

Yes, I agree with you. When I found out about this gadget I did think that the rocking part wasn't exactly a good idea. A guy in some other board mentioned that he actually lifted the bike and pulled it backwards, since by rocking or pulling it forward it could be dangerously easy to flip the side stand. When I read the page again this morning, before posting it, it says to rock the bike from side to side :headscratch So, well, I don't know.

I agree it should have some rubber boot or something, as it does look like it could skid easily...

It looks like a nice gadget to have on the road incase of a flat tire & to use for lubing chain. As far as stability goes it's probably not super stable but with the front wheel locked with the velcro strap supplied it looks like it'll be just enough to get the job done.

Doesn't look super stable, but I don't see why it wouldn't be fine for lubing the chain.

Or you could just roll the bike forward with the wheel on the ground and not mess with the quikstand. :dunno Or get a cheap rearstand?

yeah I agree, I guess we all have been lookin at this for as a tool to use everytime we want to lube the chain, etc... but I guess it would be a great tool just to have in your tool bag, in case of absolute emergancies, you never know what can happen out there.
