iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 4 (16) | Since I've never done it and it's due on my R1... How easy it is to do? I suspect it's 100% DIY, meaning no special tools required, but who knows. I'd hate to completely remove the front end or swingarm, not to mention the bike needs to be suspended/supported in some way (the "ladder" method?). Q1: Can I do it by just loosening the bolts/axles w/o removing anything? Q2: What kind of grease would you recommend? Compatible with what is there currently (put by the mfr). |

iTrader: (0) Rep Power: 2 (10) | A1. This is not too difficult but youll have to take the front and rear end apart. For example you have to take the steering stem/tripple clamps apart. The special tools needed are a torque wrench, spanner wrench, and service manual. A2. Bell Ray waterproof grease works great. Use a LOT of grease and work it into the bearings. |
