Default Questions about repacking the steering head and swingarm bearings

Since I've never done it and it's due on my R1... How easy it is to do? I suspect it's 100% DIY, meaning no special tools required, but who knows. I'd hate to completely remove the front end or swingarm, not to mention the bike needs to be suspended/supported in some way (the "ladder" method?).

Q1: Can I do it by just loosening the bolts/axles w/o removing anything?
Q2: What kind of grease would you recommend? Compatible with what is there currently (put by the mfr).

A1. This is not too difficult but youll have to take the front and rear end apart. For example you have to take the steering stem/tripple clamps apart. The special tools needed are a torque wrench, spanner wrench, and service manual.

A2. Bell Ray waterproof grease works great. Use a LOT of grease and work it into the bearings.
